Visited in June 2016

If you are heading to Philadelphia, the Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square at 18th and Market Street is the perfect location. Within walking distance to many historical highlights, shopping, amazing restaurants, museums and universities, this hotel surpassed my expectations in service and comfort. Surprisingly, I was not accompanied by my family for this visit. However, the next time we take a family trip to Philadelphia, we'll know right where to stay.
The lobby is a welcoming with gorgeous modern art and beautiful lighting details.

Room

For this write up, I stayed in a Double/Double Deluxe Room on the 8th floor. If you want a convenient floor for family travel, this is it. The rooftop swimming pool is accessed on this floor and has a tremendous view of the city. Even better, if you are a Sonesta Travel Pass Elite member or are staying in a room with Club Lounge access, the Club Lounge is also located on this floor.

Room 803. Perfect size.
I loved the cool artwork over the beds.
Lots of desk space for computer work and even had extra outlets to plug everything in.
Seriously. Some of the best toiletries ever. They smelled delicious and were so refreshing! I need to find them for home (anyone?!)
Easy set-up in the room to make complimentary coffee in the morning.
You can even swim right in the middle of the city!
I've also stayed in a King Deluxe Room on the 22nd floor in room 2219. What a view this room had!

Dining

Virtual Hint: I was so excited to see that around check-in time they offer guests delicious fruited water and an assortment of treats in the lobby. During my stay, I loved the cold watermelon water and mini cannolis. It was so welcoming after a long day of travel!
No matter what time you arrive, make sure to stop in at the Art Bar. Pick up a light breakfast and flavored coffee made by a barista in the morning. Or enjoy the bar scene with a unique handmade cocktail and delicious appetizer. Don't miss the Buffalo Chicken Dip. I highly recommend it.
Whether you are visiting for a special occasion or just pretending it's a special occasion, there is Ruth's Chris, one of my favorite steakhouses right in the hotel.
When traveling on business, I often enjoy ordering room service for a meal once in a while. It's relaxing to have a hot meal brought to you in the relaxing comfort of you room while you can still get work, unpacking, etc. done. The last time I visited, I had the most amazing fresh burrata and tomato salad.
Sonesta Philadelphia Room Service
I even had the time to try out room service for breakfast one morning. This was such a treat. Most impressive was that the coffee arrived fresh and hot, and my pick of a "Healthy Start" breakfast was delicious. Take a look at the extensive breakfast room service menu below.

If you are an Travel Pass Elite member or VIP guest, you may also have access to the club lounge. Open during the week, this is a great spot to grab a light breakfast, appetizers in the evening, or snacks and beverages (non-alcoholic) all day. The breakfast is delicious!
Virtual Hint: Sonesta gives complimentary WiFi to guests in their Travel Pass Rewards plan, so don't forget to sign up on-line before you go. If you are an established Travel Pass member, you may receive complimentary water bottles in your room.  If not, they charge for bottled water and they are $4 each. If you drink a lot of water and have kids that do also, take a walk to Walgreens a few blocks away to pick a few bottles.
I am definitely a huge fan of Sonesta. With all of their locations in some of my favorite spots (even the Caribbean!) I am definitely excited to get back and stay Sonesta again soon.
