Laundry Service and Prices on Celebrity Cruises
It's another little luxury to have laundry and dry cleaning service onboard a ship. It comes in handy when limiting the amount of items you are packing. For example, plan a few outfits for the beginning of your trip and then send them to the laundry to have them come back clean and fresh to wear again. Another reason laundry is critical is if you are planning a pre-cruise stay. It's not fun to bring dirty clothes to unpack in your clean cruise cabin so send them off right away! I've often used the pressing services for clothes that have become extraordinarily wrinkled during our travel prior to boarding the ship.
Celebrity Cruises does not have laundry rooms available for guests to use on their own, but for a small fee, make the most of your time by having them laundry or dry-clean them for you. The fees are not unreasonable, plus if you are Captain's Club member, depending on your Captain's Club level you will get a discount for laundry service during your cruise. Elite level and above even have various laundry services provided complimentary. Or if you are staying in a Royal Suite or above, you'll have complimentary laundry service which is a huge perk!
You'll find a nice sized bag (check your closet) to put your items in. If you need more bags, just ask. Your stateroom attendant or butler will ensure they are taken away and returned promptly the very next day. Or for an extra fee, same day expedited laundry service is also available.
Helpful Tip! I've heard from many people that they are afraid to use the laundry service because they may shrink their clothes. We recently cruised on Celebrity Silhouette and I sent bags of clothes at least 3 times during the cruise. Just write on the ticket your specific request (for example, COLD water and LOW heat) and they seem to honor it. I didn't have one item ruined.
When your laundry is returned, you'll notice that they may have tiny adhesive stickers with your last name and/or stateroom number on the collars, sleeves, or waistband of your clothes. I've never had them ruin anything, although for sensitive children as mine are, they may feel extra-itchy or bothersome. Keep this tip in mind so that you can remove the label before they even notice.
