La Petite Chef at Qsine on Celebrity Cruises

Sooo...I've heard the good and the bad about the Celebrity Cruises La Petite Chef experience but I wasn't going to let our cruise on Celebrity Silhouette go by without giving it a try! This is a Specialty Restaurant so you will incur an additional fee. Currently the cost is $55 per person. The initial presentation when seated at the table is unique and inspiring in itself. With eclectic colors of the dining room, and the anticipation of dinner and show, this original concept will bring out the culinary fun for kids of all ages.
There is a bit of a wait in the beginning, like any good dinner will have, as you are waiting for everyone to arrive. The show is perfectly timed and it can't stop once its starts. First, you are greeted by a charming cast of characters. They will lead you through a friendly competition to see who can build the best course. We were charmed by assembly of Marinated Tomato Salad, Truffled Five Cheese Ravioli (stuffed with a delicious mushroom mixture as you can see the chefs building in the video below), Steak Frites, and finished with a Green Tea Matcha Cake.

We saw people of all ages dining at Celebrity Cruises La Petite Chef and everyone was enjoying it. The staff seemed prompt and personable, although we didn't chat as much with them since the show was going on. They do have a vast wine and drink list. I'd recommend trying a cocktail here (I love a French Martini) instead of wine, only because of the lack of a Sommelier and consistent drink service.
Check out the short video of the amazing animated culinary experience. It's brilliant! Any computer or video fan would find this lots of fun and definitely an unusual type of entertainment, especially on a cruise ship..
Now as much as we enjoyed our dinner, I was a bit disappointed that we missed the lobster night! I've also heard the snow crab pasta is not to be missed.  If you are looking for the best steak on the ship, it may not be in that category, but the whole evening is a lot of fun and a truly unique concept.
