Located in Glen Allen, Virginia, the Richmond Marriott Short Pump is great for families, convenient to numerous colleges and universities in the Richmond area, close to upscale shopping and restaurants, and near many major roads and highways. The grounds are beautiful with a relaxing fountain and suburbia feel. Plus, it was renovated only two years ago and still has that fresh new ambiance.
The minute you walk in, a cozy fireplace is always welcoming!
Room
We stayed in two rooms, both with two queen beds. At this hotel, they also off the new Stay Well rooms. The Richmond Marriott Short Pump location is one of the few designated properties that offer these special rooms with air purification, aromatherapy, upgraded mattress, mood lighting and more.
The standard rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. Below is an example from our room 312. The bathroom is a great size and the bath soaps and toiletries are very refreshing.

Virtual Hint: If you are a Marriott Rewards Member, you'll get complimentary in-room Internet access if you book directly through Marriott. Plus, we found complimentary water bottles in our room which is a great perk, especially when traveling with kids.
Dining
The breakfast selection is plentiful. You can lounge on a comfortable sofa or sit at a table to enjoy a served breakfast or an easy breakfast buffet with numerous choices. The breakfast buffet is extremely reasonable for only $14 per person.

They also have a wonderful menu for lunch, dinner, or just a pick-me-up snack. A must try are the warm Virginia spicy peanuts. Yum!
Amenities
The Richmond Marriott Short Pump has a high-tech fitness facility right in the hotel. Plus, they also have a refreshing indoor pool. The kids will love it!
We are looking forward to getting back to Richmond, Virginia many times in the future. It's a great place to visit with families and explore all this wonderful city has to offer.
