Rusty Scupper for Dining in Baltimore
Rusty Scupper is located on the water at 402 Key Highway, Baltimore, Maryland and is a true Baltimore icon. Serving fresh and local seafood, Rusty Scupper is highly rated and has an amazing view of the Baltimore harbor area and of the boats coming in and out. Recently we had the opportunity to dine here and it was just as fun and delicious as I remembered it to be when I first visited over 15 years ago.
The menu is terrific and has lots of specialities and options, whatever your mood may be. We dinned here for lunch, but I was told the dinner menu is similar, just with a few more options and larger portions. They also have a great kid's menu with seafood choices. I alway love to see more than the typical selections.
Starting with bread and a homemade sauce to dip, we decided on our lunch. Since they offer a great selection of local food, I was anxious to try a traditional soft shell crab sandwich. You can only get them certain times of the year. If you've never had a soft shell crab, it's a blue crab that has just shed its hard shell, and at this point you can eat the entire crab. It's either fried or sautéed and delicious!
Our other choices, crab cake, shrimp cocktail, and coconut shrimp were also a hit.
What a view from the restaurant every where you looked! I felt just like I was cruising. If you visit Baltimore for a cruise or vacation, make sure to stop by the Rusty Scupper for delicious seafood in a legendary restaurant.
