Every year, we are mesmerized with the holiday festivities at Lord Baltimore Hotel. Lord Baltimore Hotel is conveniently located near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland and is a favorite luxury destination year round. But during the winter months, the holiday happenings are nothing short of spectacular and this year, they truly exceeded my expectations. The minute I walked into the lobby, I became giddy with the sweet smell of a gingerbread house, the soft holiday music serenading me in the background, and the gorgeous Couture Trees dancing in front of my eyes. It's a true holiday experience you won't want to miss. Whether you are joining the luxurious Lord Baltimore Hotel for an overnight stay, lounging in the LB Speakeasy for cocktails and light fare, enjoying a phenomenal dining experience at my favorite French Kitchen, or stopping by for a decadent treat from the LB Bakery, you'll definitely want to allow time to explore the festive and vibrant lobby. Couture Trees at Lord Baltimore HotelPresented only during the holiday season at Lord Baltimore Hotel, the annual Couture Trees competition showcases brilliant holiday-themed Couture Trees in the lobby. Meticulously crafted by talented designers, each Couture Tree represents a local business or individual artist around the Baltimore area in their own unique couture style. With 14 trees decorating the already stunning lobby for the holiday season, each one holds a special surprise. An enchanting gingerbread house centerpiece adds a culinary touch to the ambience and joyful atmosphere of the hotel and the season. Of course, a visit to Lord Baltimore Hotel is never complete without sipping an Old Fashioned cocktail in the LB Speakeasy as they did during the Prohibition era. This season, I was so excited to see they are featuring a Build Your Own Whiskey Bar! Sit down and choose your favorite combination from a myriad of bitters and garnishments. The LB Speakeasy bartender ensures your cocktail will turn out perfectly as you relax in comfortable and elegant surroundings. I am a foodie at heart and always enjoy watching food and beverages being prepared. I chose an Old Fashioned cocktail with Bulleit Bourbon, orange bitters, fresh orange, and Maraschino cherries, and then let Dylan perform his magic. It was delicious! This is a fantastic interactive experience you must try. Dining in the French Kitchen is a treat anytime of year for me, but it's decorated even more beautifully during this celebratory season. I love their seasonal menu featuring traditional French fare with a regional twist. Step into the LB Bakery and you won't believe the decadent holiday treats created by the hotel's Executive Pastry Chef, Mary Elizabeth Plovanich. The pastries and bakery selections are a feast to your eyes and tastebuds. Plus, the warm, comfortable feel of the hotel is again apparent as we were greeted by Debby who picked out the perfect treats for us. She's been working at the LB Bakery for over 30 years, so she definitely knows what to suggest! For a fun night out in Baltimore during the holiday season, you'll love the festive spirit found throughout Lord Baltimore Hotel. Definitely plan to spend some time in the lobby and visit the unique dining experiences for the perfect beginning or end to your visit. The LB Speakeasy is open on select nights through the winter, although the Couture Trees are on display only until the New Year. So gather your friends and family, even the kids, and hurry up for the holidays at Lord Baltimore Hotel! For details on specials and packages, you can find them on the Lord Baltimore Hotel website. A big thanks to everyone at Lord Baltimore Hotel, including Kristen, for providing us with an inside look at the hotel along with delicious cocktails and pastries. As always, all opinions are my own.
