Discover The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach ClubOnly an hour away from the Baltimore, Maryland, you'll find a true hidden gem, The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Kent Island, Maryland. Well-known for over 15 years for its gorgeous wedding venue by the waterfront, the Inn with 77 rooms and suites is perfect for your event or a relaxing, comfortable getaway. If visiting for a wedding or event, they provide an easy commute between the Beach Club and the Inn via private shuttles. There are different types of accommodations depending where you want to be on the property. During our stay, we chose the main Inn and enjoyed a "Manor Suite". All of the suites are located on the fourth floor of the building, allowing wonderful panoramic views. What I enjoyed was the exclusive resort feel with large resort amenities. The luxurious perks in the rooms, along with well-manicured grounds and excellent dining, are things that I look for when wanting to escape for a short getaway in the Maryland region. Manor SuiteThis is where we stayed and what a fantastic suite! As described when we booked, "The Manor Suite is located on the fourth floor overlooking The Inn gardens and common lawn. The suite offers a separate king bedroom and living room with a pull out queen sofa bed. Its most distinctive feature is the built in wet bar with seating for four and gas fireplace. A luxurious modern full bathroom features a soaking tub and walk-in shower with an additional half bathroom off the living room. European bath essentials and bath linens. Guests can enjoy in room coffee service and an under counter refrigerator." The photos below are of our Manor Suite, Room 403. A few tips from our visit:
Pro Tip: If you are staying in a suite on the fourth floor, don't forget to stop on either the second or third floor for ice. There is not an ice machine on the fourth floor. Of course, ice is complimentary. The Grounds at the InnThis part of Maryland is known for seafood (think crabs, oysters, Rockfish) along with its farms. Maryland tomatoes, corn, and cantaloupe are some of my favorites. I love that The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club incorporates this theme in the resort. You can stroll through fresh produce gardens they farm to use in the restaurants. It was fun trying to name the plant! We spied strawberries, purple basil, cherry tomatoes, rosemary, mint, just to name a few. They even have an array of hops that they bring to a local brewery every year to produce their own draft beer. The grounds are lovely. Small, intimate sitting areas are found all over. A few even have private fire pits. You'll discover cornhole games and two small dipping pools that are warm and refreshing. Towels are provided for guests to use on the comfortable lounge and oversized chairs. It can get very warm, but they have lots of shaded space. The Spa is rumored to be wonderful, but I didn't get to try it this visit. (Now I have an excuse to come back!) The MarketStart the morning with homemade biscuits with egg, cheese, and a variety of meats, or the quiche of the day, avocado toast, or one of many other delicious specialties. Breakfast at The Market at Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club is open daily from 7 AM to 11 AM. Lunch starts at 11 AM and has incredible panini's, soups (Maryland Vegetable Crab and Cream of Crab) and a terrific selection of many other selections. You can get everything packed to-go and enjoy in your room (we loved dining at the bar in our Manor Suite) or sit at a table inside or right outside of The Market. There is also an extensive beverage counter filled with chilled water, soft drinks, iced teas, wine and beer. While you are waiting for your food to-go, leave time to browse in the adjoining gift shop. It's filled with traditional Maryland and Kent Island themed snacks, sundries, and souvenirs. Knoxie's TableKnoxie's Table at The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club offers guests and locals indoor and outdoor dining for dinner and drinks. With an outside patio, they often have live music to entertain diners. We loved listening to the artist during our stay. Follow the Facebook page to see upcoming events they have planned. The atmosphere inside is rustic and charming. But where ever you decide to dine, the food is superb. They use the freshest seafood and the produce is just steps away in their chef's garden. The Knoxie's Table cocktails change regularly on the menu and one is more refreshing and tasty than then the next. Our favorite was the unique Fleur de Coco. Made with Bacardi rum, Malibu rum, hibiscus liqueur, fresh grapefruit, and coconut cream, it was sensational! They have a mouthwatering dessert selection - everything is homemade, including the ice cream. I recommend the Smith Island Style Cake. It's shown below and decadent! Nine layers of moist cake layered with chocolate...it's a must try. We were full from dinner and ordered this to-go (I never miss dessert!) Outside of the InnThe Inn in Kent Island is a wonderful place if you are hosting or attending a wedding or event at the waterfront Beach Club. Only steps away from the Inn, you'll find magnificent views of the Bay Bridge, delicious dining at Hemingways, and the beautiful Bay Bridge Marina. If you want to really explore and get exercise at the same time, the Inn offers use of four bicycles for guests to enjoy, as available. If you are visiting with an electric car, there is a dedicated Tesla super charger 5 miles away at a Royal Farms store. You'll also find an EV charging station at the Queenstown Premium Outlets, approximately 8 miles away. The sunsets over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge are incredible! This was taken from the fourth floor of the Inn. We decided to explore Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club as our first jaunt post-COVID. Hopefully, restrictions will keep getting less and less, but for now, here are a few tips for their COVID precautions that I noticed:
