Quick Review of Walt Disney World Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween PartyEvery year from mid-August to Halloween, the ghosts and goblins and Disney characters come out to visit at an exclusing "party" in Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This year in 2022, we were excited to visit them! You might be hesitant to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) at Disney World Magic Kingdom because of the price…yes, it’s astronomical. But worth every penny! First of all, keep in mind that the party starts at 7:00 PM but you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM. This works perfectly if it’s the only time you plan to visit the park. The crowds start thinning out as the day pass guests leave and the party guest arrive. There is magical and themed food available only during the MNSSHP. We were so excited to try these exclusive items. The almond corn cake was a showstopper. Amazingly delicious, it was flavorful and fresh, topped with a sweet drizzle and candy corn. If you want a sit down meal, the only two restaurants open during the party are Be Our Guest and Cinderella’s Castle. Make your reservations early to snag a spot. You can make your dining reservations as early as 60 days before the date of the start of your visit. We dined at Be Our Guest and loved every minute! These sit down restaurants are one of the few places you can order alcoholic beverages in the Magic Kingdom part and they actually have quite an impressive wine list. Tip! You can check-in 15 minutes or more prior to your reservation time and they will take you if there is availability. A must see are the fireworks that start at 10:15. It’s not easy to find a spot but managed to grab one not too far back with a great view. We still can’t stop talking about this fireworks show. It was spectacular! All of the Magic Kingdom rides are open throughout the party and they are transformed with a Halloween theme. It’s a great way to beat some of the crowds during traditional park days. And don’t forget to grab a Disney trick-or-treat bag or bring your own for trick-or-treat spots around the park. They are generous with their handfuls! A lot of it is unique candy that I’ve never tried before, all sponsored by Mars. In my opinion, the admittedly high price tag was worth it and we made many wonderful (but not scary!) Halloween memories with Disney.
