Hyatt Centric Las Olas Review and TipsIt's become our "go-to" when visiting Fort Lauderdale for a short vacation before a cruise. Only a 15-minute Uber ride from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and about the same to reach Port Everglades, you don't need a rental car at all to experience Las Olas from the Hyatt Centric Las Olas. They have a terrific variety of rooms to please families of many sizes...we've enjoyed a King Deluxe Room along a 2-Queen Guest Room a few times, which works beautifully for a family of 4 with grown boys. This combination is available connecting or separate. Below is the spacious King Deluxe Room. It's 532 square feet with floor-to-ceiling windows. What a view! You'll also find a large bathroom with 2 sinks and shower, a large closet area with safe and shelving for storage, a coffee machine, large desk, and a great amount of lighting throughout. The curtains are all motorized with a touch of a button. Toiletries are generous and if you need anything, you can use your app to text an attendant who will send it to your room. The restaurant Harborwood is very convenient and the food is delicious. We had no problem getting a table for breakfast, lunch, or even a late night dessert (and you'll want to try the desserts...amazing!) although one word of warning, they tend to be a little slow, so if you have to keep to a strict schedule, make sure to tell them as soon as you are seated. I love checking out the menus beforehand. Here you go: You'll definitely want to spend some time away from Hyatt Centric Las Olas and take a short walk to explore Las Olas for decadent food and fabulous shopping. There are lots of popular retailers like Lilly Pulitzer and a Tommy Bahama location (check out the Marlin bar!) that is my personal favorite, as well as small boutiques. The restaurants here are incredible. One of our favorite restaurants in the area is Lobster Bar Sea Grill. It's within close walking distance from the Hyatt Centric Las Olas. We often head over to Lobster Bar Sea Grill when we visit for a pre-cruise stay. The decor is beautifully done and the service is impeccable. I crave the Whole Lobster Risotto with Truffles and order it every time! Hollywood Donut Factory is also just a short walk from the hotel. Stop in and pick a few donuts. They'll pack them in fun, convenient carryout boxes, perfect to take back to your room for a snack. Pro Tip: I recommend getting to Hollywood Donuts in Las Olas Fort Lauderdale early for the very best selection. The Hyatt Centric Las Olas features a pool with comfortable loungers, complimentary towels, a poolside bar and rooftop view. It's an urban feel that is a terrific spot to cool off in the hot Florida sun. If nature is more your thing, you won't be disappointed. Hyatt Centric Las Olas is right on Riverwalk. This is a lovely bricked path that takes you for a stroll by the New River. I love admiring the beautiful boats and there is also many types of wildlife. And if your nature walk makes you thirsty, there is a convenient champagne vending machine waiting for you when you get back to Hyatt Centric Las Olas! Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale is a very safe area to walk around, even at night. The Hyatt Centric is in a truly fantastic location, full of charm, yet upscale and excitingly glamorous. Even if you don't want to walk, ask at the front desk, and they have a complimentary Tesla car to take you anywhere within a 2 mile radius. (They've seriously thought of everything.) I highly recommend the Hyatt Centric Las Olas if you are visiting Fort Lauderdale, it's especially nice for a pre or post cruise stay. It's only a few miles from the beach, or stay in the area and walk and shop and eat, a vacation in itself!
