Celebrity Cruises Specialty Restaurant MuranoOn our recent Celebrity Solstice cruise to Alaska, we had the opportunity to try Murano, one of the most popular specialty restaurants on Celebrity Cruises. This specialty restaurant Murano is also available on Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Silhouette, and Celebrity Reflection. A French-inspired restaurant, it offers a first-class upscale fine dining experience. You'll find top notch "old school" luxury service that is demonstrated by their superb attention to details. It's a must for me to highlight a few of my favorite things - I found them so impressive! A First TasteAfter placing our orders, the proper, but very friendly server presented us with an amuse bouche. Amuse bouche typically means a delightful little bite before the main course. These are hand selected and prepared by the chef to prepare your palate for the feast that is to come. Honestly, sometimes when we've received these gourmet little treats, they are a little bit too gourmet. But this delicate piece of smoked Alaskan salmon topped with a lemony cream sauce was perfect and even my sons enjoyed it. Changing of the UtensilsI don't know why, but one of my pet peeves in restaurants is when I have to start the next course with used silverware. I've always been a bit particular about mixing my foods so I was thrilled to have the servers come by after every course to take away the utensils on the table and set out the next round that matched with what we ordered. Perfect TimingAnd get ready for a show! Not one time was anyone's food brought to the table late. It was perfection the way the servers presented each course as they placed the plates in front of each of us with perfect timing. They had two servers bring the food to our table of four so that they could each place the dish in front of us or lift off the covers at the designated moment. Cheese CourseI adore a cheese course. I find it decadent and refreshing at the same time. To me, it's a treat to indulge in a cheese course before the sweet dessert. With beautiful presentation, they plated the cheeses in a circle based on the taste. Starting with the most mild, we worked our way around clockwise to end with the strongest variety. I love a full-bodied cheese flavor, although not everyone in the family made their way around the plate. But that is okay! It's one of the reasons I enjoy dining on cruises so that you can try different things all-inclusive. Table Side PreparationYou'll find table side preparation for exclusive items, such as Chateaubriand and flambeed desserts, just to name a few. It's fun to see the staff's experienced culinary skills at work, besides knowing a few surprise ingredients that go into a dish. In this strawberry sauce for my crepe shown below, they added a splash of balsamic vinegar and a twist of fresh cracked pepper. The MealOf course, you want to see the food before you go! Below are a few of my favorite items from the menu that we experienced in Celebrity Cruises specialty restaurant Murano. Two things that we didn't have on this visit (but enjoyed immensely in Murano on Celebrity Equinox) are the Murano Lobster and the Dover Sole. Amazing! Ready to book? Make your reservation in Celebrity Cruises specialty restaurant Murano early in your cruise, as the most popular times may sell out. Or if you are a planner like me, you can even book them on-line before you board in your Cruise Planner on the Celebrity Cruises website. Online, you can find dinner reservations for Murano but wait until you board and you many find a lunch seating to take advantage of for a reduced price. These are often offered based on the ship's itinerary and availability of seating. This is a specialty restaurant so (as of June 2019) it does come with an additional charge of $50 per guest. However, take a look at this upscaled menu and remember the personalized service, and you see why it's a great value for the experience. We loved trying the specialty restaurants on Celebrity Cruises and Murano is definitely one we'll return to again and again. Have you eaten in Murano? I'd love to hear about your favorite things in the comments below!

Because the food and service is of such high quality, we generally purchase a 5 night dining package in advance on a 7 night cruise. Once on board we make reservations all 5 nights at Murano and eat in the Main on evening chic nights. Never been disappointed.
