With the holidays approaching and schools getting out on breaks, many ships have now started to make their way back to the US to cruise to the Caribbean. Airlines have increased the number of flights from major US hubs to fly direct to many of these included tropical islands. From late November to spring, the Bahamas, Caribbean, and parts of Mexico have an amazing influx of tourists trying to escape their everyday cold weather and stress to relax on a beautiful, warm, tranquil island.
Whether you are visiting multiple tropical islands on a fun-filled luxury cruise ship or staying put at a beautiful resort on the beach, it's the perfect vacation for everyone in your family to find something to do. Scuba, snorkel and swim with bright colored fish or dolphins. Go shopping for local crafts and try new tropical food. Are you adventurous? Hop on an ATV to travel down an uninhabited road or zip-line over beautiful jungles and wildlife. Or, if you are like me, just lay on the soft sand with your feet in the crystal clear turquoise water and a tropical drink in your hand. My family has spent many winter seasons visiting the beautiful Caribbean. Being in the warm air, cool water, and relaxed island atmosphere is definitely an amazing bonding experience for the entire family. (Your kids might even forget about their Xbox!) Not sure which is the best island for you? Check out U.S. News Best Family Vacations in the Caribbean to pick the perfect vacation spot for you and your family to have a truly memorable winter break.

My Virtual Vacations BlogAbout the AuthorThanks for cruising by!
I'm the creator behind this blog, where I share our family’s love for travel, especially cruising. By day, I work full-time in an office—and all the time, I'm a proud mom to two amazing young men. We took our first cruise when they were energetic little boys, and I’ve included plenty of tips for traveling with kids in tow. With our packed work and school schedules, we cherish every holiday break and make the most of our time off. We gravitate toward cruises and luxury hotel stays, always on the lookout for family-friendly experiences that offer comfort, elegance, and a touch of indulgence—think spacious suites, gorgeous décor, excellent service, and memorable dining. When we're not traveling, you’ll find me enjoying local restaurants or getting creative in my own kitchen with cooking and baking. Start dreaming—and planning—your next luxurious getaway, whether by sea or on land, with My Virtual Vacations. I'm always happy to answer questions or offer personalized recommendations to help you make the most of your travels. Be sure to check back often for new blog posts, travel tips, and inspiration—there are always more family adventures on the horizon!
