You can't beat the vibe when staying in the heart of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.! That's why we decided on Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill when we were planning to visit Washington, D.C. for the Travel and Adventure Show. The hotel is located only a little over a mile from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center which means it's less than a 10 minute drive away. It's also within walking distance of the U.S. Capitol, Union Station, and many other national monuments. And you're only steps away from wonderful shopping and restaurants. Trust me, you will love this location. Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol HillThe minute we walked into the lobby at Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, we were mesmerized. The high glass ceilings and decor are welcoming and bright. During the chilly winter months, it's a wonderful treat to admire the outside scenery while still warm and cozy inside a beautiful hotel. Our Beautiful Capitol Suite + One!When planning a family trip, one of the most important things I look for are the sleeping arrangements. I was thrilled to find that Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill offers large suites, plus many of them even have additional rooms attached. We checked in to a Capitol Suite, which is 780 square feet of luxury space overlooking a city and U.S. Capitol view. It was perfect! A Capitol Suite includes a spacious living area with a huge sofa, a 6 person dining table, a large separate bedroom, and a gorgeous spacious marble bathroom. It's surrounded with lots of over-sized windows to bring the outside in. Then, add-on a connecting room and step around the corner to a second bedroom (ours had two double beds) and an additional bathroom. This "suite plus one" is the perfect set-up for everyone having a great night's sleep and plenty of room to stretch out. I love the little perks that come with having a premier level suite. You have plenty of space to enjoy an entire meal without ever having to leave the comfort of your room. This is especially convenient when traveling with a family. Article One LoungeHyatt Regency Washington on Capital Hill Article One Lounge offers a delicious variety of small plates, appetizers, and drinks served throughout the day, beginning late morning until late night. This lounge has a wonderful, bright ambiance and is the perfect place to sit for a bite to eat or drink. The seating is extremely comfortable and they even have tables with televisions so that you won't miss your favorite sporting event or show. Located close to the lobby area, this lounge quickly became one of my favorite spots since I enjoy relaxing while watching the energy of the hotel. They have a mouthwatering selection of appetizers, lunch items, and unique cocktails. Don't miss ordering any one of their delicious specialties. We went crazy over them! Virtual Hint: Can't finish all of your meal? They will provide carry out containers for you to take back up to your room. Keep them cold in your Capitol Suite's refrigerator and then microwave when ready to eat. Article One - American GrillOpen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Article One - American Grill at Hyatt Regency Washington on Capital Hill has an upscale and comfortable feel. The breakfast here is spectacular! You can choose from a unique menu serving classic American specialties or an expansive breakfast buffet. I highly recommend heading here to start your day. We loved the variety on the breakfast buffet and we also tried some plated items. They were a hit! If you are looking for a quick bite on-the-go, stop in at The Market inside Hyatt Regency Washington on Capital Hill for a cup of coffee and pastry or other treat. They also sell various sundries and even jewelry or work-out apparel you may have forgotten. Or pick up an authentic Washington D.C. souvenir to remember your visit. They have a terrific selection. After staying just one night at this spectacular hotel, we are already excited to come back for a longer stay. Not only is the location fabulous, but children of all ages will appreciate the size, design and amenities the hotel offers. This is the perfect destination for a luxury stay for your next family vacation to Washington, D.C.!
